My other activities at UCB include membership in the Group in Logic and the Methodology of Science, the Institute of Cognitive and Brain Sciences, and the Cognitive Science core faculty, as well as co-organization (with Paolo Mancosu, John MacFarlane, and Sherri Roush) of the Working Group in the History and Philosophy of Logic, Mathematics, and Science. I also co-organize (with Sahotra Sarkar) the annual Formal Epistemology Workshops. My primary research and teaching areas include philosophy of science, logic (including automated reasoning, which is why my Erdös number is 4), epistemology, and metaphysics. I am currently writing a book on confirmation theory.
